From: john connolly on 14 May 2010 15:44 Hi, I have a downloaded video that I am trying to burn to a dvd. I finally got devede to work, and it made what looks like the appropriate files but it made an .iso file out of them. My dvd player would not read the resulting dvd disk, nor would vlc. I had to mount the .iso file for vlc to read it. After unscrambling the .iso back into the files I used k3b to burn the disk. It burned as a data file and my dvd player recognizes it as a dvd but it will not play. I then tried using the dvd video option in k3b but I got an error message about the video files them selves and it wouldn't burn. Any ideas? thanks, jwc

That is a good thing, now take that .iso file and use your favorite dvd burning program to burn that image to the DVD. > My dvd player would not read the resulting dvd disk, nor would vlc. Do _not_ put the iso file in a file system on the disk, the iso file already contains a correct file system. > I had to mount the .iso file for vlc to read it. No need to unscramle anything, you can tell k3b to use the .iso image to burn to the DVD. regards Henrik -- The address in the header is only to prevent spam. Saves watching DeVeDe convert everything /again/ (default action). Avidemux does a decent job of creating DVD-ready mpg files prior to using DeVeDe, and creating a border filter that snips just 8 pixels and replaces them with an 8 pixel black border can shave huge chunks off file size with no loss of image quality. Use larger snip'n'blank snippages for files with "tatty edges" (pulled from a VCR etc.) and for reducing the Kb consumption of widescreen top\bottom borders too. Have fun. -- *=( http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/ *=( For all your UK news needs.
