Hi,

We have S10 and SunRay with JDS as desktop environment.

But in the lab we would like to disable screenlock on the lab users, is
that possible?

As long as you are running X windows any X client can attempt to
issue a GrabKeyboard request which is effectively a lock.

However, if it is in practice safe to assume that people won't
install and run their own xlock software, you could consider to
disable xlock (or whatever you are using under JDS) or to
use alternatives that allow an enforced logout by anyone or
after some timelimit.

Andreas.

Did I missunderstand you or you me :) ?

I like to disable the screen from being locked by some specific UID,
that it no need to enter any password once logged in, today the screen
locks after a while and you need a password to open it again.

in jds there is an option under

system settings > desktop settings >
screensaver

that lets you disable a password request
to unlock an active screensaver.
