From: Jabez Gan [MVP] on 19 Jan 2006 01:16 Yes, you will need to have dnscmd.exe if you want to run the command dnscmd.exe Dnscmd.exe is one of the support tools from Support.cab, which is located in the support\tools directory on the Windows 2000 CD Hope this helps. -- Jabez Gan [MVP] Microsoft MVP: Windows Server http://www.blizhosting.com MSBLOG: http://msblog.resdev.net "nuti" <nutinaveen(a)yahoo.co.in> wrote in message news:1137647970.056087.58580(a)o13g2000cwo.googlegroups.com... > hi folks, > > do i need to hav dnscmd.exe in order to use dnscmd. > > im trying to add dns aliases using dnscmd command. > > but it says that dnscmd is not a recognized internal or external > command. > > so,do i need to hav dnscmd.exe? > > cheers, > nuti >
From: Jabez Gan [MVP] on 19 Jan 2006 01:17 and an addtional information. To use dnscmd.exe, copy the file from the .CAB (extract it out) and place this file in the windows\system32 folder. Once done, you should be able to run the command dnscmd.exe in Command Prompt.
