From: kswind on 20 Feb 2010 22:02 today I've sent out 2 emails and both were return, saying "The following recipient(s) could not be reached:" 551 not our customer this was done on both to different email addresses. What has happen that my emails won't go out?

What has happen that my > emails won't go out? Who said your e-mail won't go out? So far, you've only shown that just 2 recipients cannot be reached, not that all recipients (beyond just those 2) cannot be reached. Did you configure the e-mail account defined within Outlook to authenticate to the SMTP mail host?

If you'd bothered to do ANY searching in this group you would have found a huge thread earlier today of which one post contained the following: " From AT&T: I apologize but we are undergoing a system maintenance. Would you please try to check your client email program later today and see if it will work then. This maintenance is intended to improve the service we offer you and we regret any inconvenience. For the mean time, we suggest that you access your email account online or we can temporarily change your outgoing mail server and see if this resolve the issue."
From: ddpinto2693 on 21 Feb 2010 10:30 I have had the exact same problem inthe last 2 days. Error message is: "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 2/21/2010 10:21 AM The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' on 2/21/2010 10:21 AM 551 not our customer" I spoke to me email provider, who claimed it was an issue with a recent XP security patch conflicting with Outlook 2007. I did not beleive my provider, so I tried a test with another email account. Same problem, so I can't blaim my provider. Has MS posted anything about this glitch and what they are doing about it? From: Christianweb on 21 Feb 2010 13:47 The following worked for me: It is a BellSouth error. When they changed to Att some customers still had BellSouth and some had att pop addresses. Their latest update caused the problem. The following changes worked for me. Change your email settings to: Pop server in = mail.bellsouth.net Out= SMTP.att.yahoo.com. Uncheck "Require login using Secure Password Authentication" if it was checked. In Outlook 7, click on "More Settings" to open up the Internet E-mail Settings box. On the "Outgoing Server" tab, check the box for "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Also, select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server. On advanced tab change in and out port numbers in= 110 out=587 Close that window and click on the "Test Account Settings" This worked for me, hopefully it will help others to get around this problem.
