From: ray mc on 15 Feb 2010 17:17 whenever I create a new document in Word 2007 it automatically creates the document in an encrypted format. When I go into the properties of the document, under General>Advanced>Compress or encrypt attributes> the encrypt contents to secure data is checked marked in the box. If I uncheck it, then the document is no longer encrypted and the document name turns from green to black. How do I turn this off permanetly? Bit locker encryption is turned off. Please help!
From: Stefan Blom on 16 Feb 2010 08:42 Exit Word and rename normal.dotm; a new version with factory default settings will be created the next time you start Word. To locate normal.dotm, you can search for it in Windows: press Windows key + F to display the search window. Be sure to search hidden files and folders. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "ray mc" <raymc(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B383FA32-0BD4-4741-92BB-7DBD293E8CC5(a)microsoft.com... > whenever I create a new document in Word 2007 it automatically creates the > document in an encrypted format. From: ray mc on 16 Feb 2010 15:13 Thank you for your reply - sorry, but I don't understand how to do this, I went into windows explorer and did a search of normal.dotm - 4 or 5 files came up and if I clicked on them it would start a new search of normal.dotm again. I have no knowledge of what normal.dotm is and how it works or how to rename it, is there any way to help me to understand this and to fix it?
