From: leoliver on 16 Jan 2007 14:24 Earl, When I did a explorer search, in my C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework folder, it showed no results for a search for the "msver80.dll " file. Where should that file be located (assuming it should be ) on my computer? -- your friend, Larry "Earl Grey" wrote: > Hi Larry: > > You really should forget about Norton WinDoctor, which frequently comes > up with silly results like the one you are seeing. > > In this well-known example, the file msver80.dll is not in the location > where WinDoctor expects it to be, and as a result WinDoctor reports the > file is missing. > > In fact, that file is installed exactly where it should be and there is > no error. > > Earl Grey > > leoliver wrote: > > Hi Everybody, > > Last Saturday I downloaded/installed Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 , > > because the "nLite" autostreamer program required net 2.0 to run correctly. > > Everything went > > good, "nLite" worked and I had no computer problems. > > However, when I run Norton Windoctor, or norton one button check up I > > recieve program error messages such as "net framework\v 2.0.5o727\vbc.exe > > cannot access a necessary file "Msver80.dll". From: leoliver on 16 Jan 2007 15:14 I was posting a incorrect file name, I posted this "msver80.dll", but it should be "msvcr80.dll" . Sorry for the mistake! -- your friend, Larry "Earl Grey" wrote: > Hi Leo: > > The .dll is a hidden file, so your first step is to show hidden files on > your computer. From: leoliver on 17 Jan 2007 01:20 Earl, I searched as you suggested, and I found 2 msvcr80.dll files on my computer, but none were in the net framework 2.0 folders. -- your friend, Larry "Earl Grey" wrote: > Hi Leo: > > The .dll is a hidden file, so your first step is to show hidden files on > your computer.
