THANKS Partial understanding. If you are using your recycle bin - and do not press SHIFT+DELETE - they may still be in the recycle bin. If you are not using the recycle bin, have emptied it, etc - then it *may* still be possible to recover things using a program like Recuva (freeware) or UnDelete (cost) - but not guaranteed. Every minute the machine is on and doing anything - the more likely the OS will reclaim the space that was marked as 'unused' when you 'deleted' the file.
