Hi,

I'm trying to get data about the trajectory of a rectangular card falling into water. For this I'm recording images with 2 perpendicular cameras.

It appears the elliptical fit used by the image processing toolbox (regionprops : orientationrad for example) is not adapted to the geometry of the cards. Therefore I need to build a fitting function that would associate a quadrangle to the contour of my card.

I lack any basics in this kind of scripting, so I'm asking for possible ways to do that.
