I'm trying to run AdBlock+ , which I got from: http://www.chromeextensions.org/appearance-functioning/adblock/ And also, Google's simple Reader Button example extension from here: http://dev.chromium.org/developers/design-documents/extensions/samples Same extensions work flawlessly on the latest build for Windows (well...if anybody cares at all :) ) As i said, I'm on 4.0.223.11 and the About dialog states: "Google Chrome". I have installed the browser from the deb here: http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel , but it gets updated from the repositories in my sources.list: # Google repository deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free # Google testing repository deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ testing non-free Thanks again, -- ing. Get listed by "chrome://extensions", not "about://..." They work. Of course, is this whole thing contra to the whole idea behind chrome as a minimalist browser? Want bloat, get firefox? I guess I will try some of these. Keep a few that are, indeed useful :-) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST(a)lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? I don't think I said otherwise though. LOL > They work. Of course, is this whole thing contra to the whole idea behind > chrome as a minimalist browser? Want bloat, get firefox? Chrome is minimalist in UI, not sold as being minimalist in resources. As anyone in web development knows; AJAXey websites suck up the resources, client side. That said webkit, runs quicker and uses less resources than Gecko/XUL based browsers like Firefox. > I guess I will try some of these. Keep a few that are, indeed useful :-) Some are quite useful; especially if one is into any of the social type of networking sites. Chrome's use of extensions is considerably safer than the way Firefox handles them. That's supposed to be one of Chrome's strong points; make the web safer to use. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST(a)lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
