From: jammer on 22 Mar 2010 21:50 Heading 1 and Heading 2 work fine but Heading 3 starts over at 1 and continue numbering from previous list doesn't work. I looked at the styles and Heading 2 says "Outline numbered + Level: 2" but Heading 3 says "Numbered + Level: 1". I think it should be "Outline numbered: Level 3". I can't figure out how to change it.
From: Doug Robbins - Word MVP on 22 Mar 2010 22:39 See the following page of fellow MVP Shauna Kelly's website: How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in your Microsoft Word document http://www.ShaunaKelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html If you create a template to hold your numbering scheme, you can use that template as the basis for new documents (using File > New) and the new documents will then inherit your numbering scheme. To do that, see: Creating a Template - The Basics (Part I) http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart1.htm Creating a Template (Part II) http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CreateATemplatePart2.htm -- Hope this helps.
