From: Wayne228 on 22 Feb 2006 21:02 I just installed MS Office Small Office 2003 & am running into a problem when I open Outlook. Outlook shows a error message that reads " The file ad in MSFSMENU.ECF or MSFSPROP.ECF is missing or not valid his problem may be resolved by using Detect & Repair on the Help Menu" I hit OK & the program seems to run correctly. I have used the Detect & Repair...with no results. The message pops up every time I start Outlook. If this can not be fixed I woul be happy with just getting rid of the message. Thanks in advance for the help.
From: Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] on 22 Feb 2006 22:08 Wiht Outlook closed, find and rename extend.dat to .old (enable searching hidden files). It should solve the problem. If it does not, then in Outlook use Tools->Options->Other->Advanced. Check under the Add-in Manager to see if those are installed. --? From: Wayne228 on 23 Feb 2006 12:11 Hi Milly, Thanks for the fast response. I tried your suggestion on changing the extention to .old with no results. Then I looked for the files & they are not listed at all under add-ins. The only thing that came up was the threadnotify.asp about the missing files. Any other ideas ? -Or- info on where the files can be found or downloaded from would be great.
