From: Otto Sykora Otto on 22 Jan 2007 11:46 I have some files made by the slax-linux, they are in the .iso format for CD burning. How do I use those with virtual pc?
From: Colin Barnhorst on 22 Jan 2007 12:03 You cannot burn a cd using the emulated optical drive in a virtual machine. The drive is read only. You can create the .iso file in the vm and transfer that to the host over a network connection and use the host's software to burn the cd. Now I have a iso file, when I burn this on CD it boots from there, OK, I can use it also with the VMware player as virtual computer. Now I wanted use this iso file the same way in MS VPc. How do I include such system, burried in an iso file as a valid system into the virtual pc? >

It helps to pause the virtual machine right after you start it (host key+P) and then resume it once you've got the ISO mounted. You can find details on using ISO images in the help for VPC. -- Paul Adare - MVP Virtual Machines Waiting for a bus is about as thrilling as fishing, with the similar tantalisation that something, sometime, somehow, will turn up. OK, but can I somehow copy such iso file onto the harddrive and include it into the virtual pc same way as a finished ready to use vhd? Or how to convert iso to vhd? Is this possible? For explanation: the vmware allows me to use the iso image alloe as a virtual machine.
