Not yet - though it may come with iOS4 according to rumour.

In the meantime, there are other messaging clients - I've seen beejive
and that seems pretty nice.

I use IM+ lite. It's oak but has the advantage of freeness

I was using AIM on my iPhone and being as it has synced that via iTunes I
might as well use that just would have preferred iChat.

I've been using Beejive on my iPad and it's very good -- iChat-esque
interface, and push notifications work pretty darn well.
