Does Stanza do that any better nowadays? When I tried a year ago it
made an absolute hash of things, perhaps not helped by Stanza on the
Mac drawing things significantly different to Stanza on the iPod.

I'm looking forward to iBooks on the iPod. It is coming as part of
iPhone OS 4 isn't it?

I wouldn't want to make any definite judgement, but it looks fine to me.

No idea, sorry.

Sounds just what I need. Thanks for the hint.

Excellent!

Is there a way to convert a DVD to iPad format? I have some home
movies it'd be good to get on there. Have the original iMovie projects
somewhere, and I guess I could export from them if need be.

There's also a programme called 'Calibre' that allows you to set cover
artwork and other associated metedata, but frankly it's a bit of a mess.

Handbrake.

If you use it for commercial DVDs then you'll also need VLC to get around
the DRM, although I personally use RipIt to create an un-DRM'd disk image
from a DVD. RipIt really is worth the money, in my opinion. 'FairMount' will
do the same (but also relies on VLC being present).

When using Handbrake I use the AppleTV preset, as the 'Normal' preset
doesn't seem to work with the iPad (at least on two that I tried).
