From: chris on 18 Dec 2008 16:55 The downloads version is now available for Linux (and Macs): http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7787335.stm I've tried adding myself as a beta tester, but I don't see the download :( Anyone else managing to get it to work?

I got the same issue, no install button was there even after I did the adobe upgrade

I have downloaded and installed Air from Adobe (OK - that link was there, but no reference to needing it). The only programmes I can see on iPlayer are recent ones, that just us Flash to stream. No downloads. -- Just because I've written it doesn't mean that either you or I have to believe it.

Is there one for XFCE? I seem to have managed to get the iplayer applet running OK in SystemTrayN for ROX. I haven't downloaded anything yet though. I wouldn't be surprised if AIR, like Flash, doesn't support video acceleration in Linux, so full-screen still isn't really possible :-(. BTW, there's an apparently borked .deb file buried in there: ~ $ dpkg -c /opt/Adobe\ AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/setup.deb dpkg-deb: unexpected end of file in between members in /opt/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/setup.deb -- TH * http://www.realh.co.uk |
