That, and flash performance, both speed and power consumption, at best,
sucks on hand/lap-held devices. This ignores the reliability and
security issues that come along for the ride.

What's worse is that Adobe has known all this for a long time, and have
been either unwilling or unable to do it right.

Streamclip plays them, but I haven't yet figured out how to convert
them to play on my iPod.

because it's flash, which is adobe's format.
