From: yuho on 2 Mar 2010 13:24 i recently bought an hp compaq nc 4000 laptop from my work place having 512 mb of ram, 60 gb of hdd and 1.4ghz of processor speed running windows 2000. bought an oiginal cd of xp professional since i find xp far much better. Now when i boot from the cd and the laptop loads files, after loading files like FAT and NTFS , a blue screen appears reading "windows has stopped ..... to prevent your computer from damage. check for viruses, hdd drivers ...." and stop there until you manually shut the laptop down. I check for BIOS setting but it has no setting for HDD, the ram works well in win2000. Any body with am idea plizzzz help
