Reproducible results are a good thing. I'd be more nervous if the count changed from cleanup to cleanup run without you changing something. It's likely you don't have the necessary authority/permissions to delete those keys. You'll have to expand the results using the "^" or "v" arrowheads on the Results window to locate each key and then use Regedit to locate it and check your permissions. See: http://boards.msn.com/safetyboards/thread.aspx?threadid=1237350&post=1237350&boardsparam=PostID%3D32637575 On the other hand, it probably isn't at all necessary to try to clean up each of these "issues" in a modern Operating System's registry, and you very well could do more harm than good by performing a risky registry edit in the hope of slightly improved performance. Having a backup would be absolutely essential. -- Regards, Dave "mightysoft" wrote: > when i use the windows live safety scan on the clean up section it said i had > 9 invalid registry entries and i should clear them i clicked fix but it only > cleared 5, tried again and it still would not clear the remaining 4. > it still tells me i should clear these so does anyone know how i can do this > please. > -- > JR |
