From: TK on 1 Dec 2009 10:28 I have installed Win2K8R2 and activated it using my TechNet key. I just bought a license for the server with CALs. This box will run HyperV on the parent server and then run 1 host, for now My question is, do I just enter the new key in the validation section for both servers...? If so, does this deactivate the key that was presently installed so I can reactivate it elsewhere for my next test server...? Thanks... Tom...
From: Meinolf Weber [MVP-DS] on 1 Dec 2009 16:23 Hello TK, If you change the technet key to a retail license you can use the key on a new test system as far as i know. There is no deactivation that need to be done. To be sure call Microsoft support. Licensing is always special.
