I seem to have lost all the icons on the xfce panel and menu (also
individual programs - thunderbird/firefox, etc.) It might be something
to do with some updates from sbopkg, but I don't remember updating
anything related to xfce/icons/themes, etc. I'm running slackware64-current.

Hi man..

I had the same problem some time ago with my 32bit.
I'm sorry but I was not able to solvethe problem. Anyway I think you
should ask in the xfce.org forum, or even search there for a similar
question..

Sounds like something I chased about a while back. AFAICR, something had
changed the access permissions on a related dir or set of files. Might be
worth checking the read permissions on the icons dir tree.

I'm grateful for your replies. What turned out to be the reason for it
is the fact that I had removed libpng. I completely forgot about it
until I noticed that actually some icons are displayed (anything apart
from .png ones)
