Did you see the TPS40200D 8-SOIC http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=296-21153-5-ND http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tps40200.html Semtech makes some inexpensive controllers as well.
