I have a .m file ('readSeg2.m') that I use on my department's Touchbook when we're out in the field to read the data we get from Geophones. I need to change some .dat (Seg2 format) in to .segy files. In order to read the .dat files into matlab first, I need to use the readSeg2.m file. I have copied the file over onto my office computer, but I don't know how to get Matlab to find it. It's currently sitting on my desktop. Can someone help me?

Thank you.

Samantha

I think CSSM Boys Inc. will be even delighted, even a lot, to help a poster who signs as 'Samantha'.

To begin, it would be good if you could make your file sitting in a folder where Matlab expects it.

.... to be continued by ML Sharks and Co. Please continue explaining GENTLY.

Okay. Place or copy the file in the current directory or in one of the folders that are included in Matlab search path. Under R2008b such folders are listed Under File / Set Path. It is also possible to add the PC Desktop to there. HTH at least a bit.
