(Un)fortunately Adobe is still supporting Firefox 2.x so we don't have that leverage. <URL:http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/> <URL:https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html> Is there an RFE to backport firefox v3 to a future Solaris 10 update? Maybe there's some other customers that can help build the business case for backporting a more recent SUNWfirefox to Solaris 10. John groenveld(a)acm.org

I'm more curious about whether there will be a future Solaris 10 update at all, firefox notwithstanding. I assume that Firefox3 will be backported about as soon as they move beyond Gnome 2.6, i.e. never. In the meantime, I'm running Firefox 3.6.3, courtesy of mozilla.com. Since it now comes up on their main page, I'm pretending they sort-of support it. At any rate, it works fine--yeah, the plugins are a bit of a hassle each time I upgrade, but really not that big of a deal. Colin

I symbolically link the Flash and JDK 6 plugins from /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and /usr/java/jre/lib/i386/ to /opt/sfw. John groenveld(a)acm.org
