Oracle uses Adobe Flash for Metalink. (Un)fortunately Adobe is
still supporting Firefox 2.x so we don't have that leverage.

Is there an RFE to backport firefox v3 to a future Solaris 10
update?

Maybe there's some other customers that can help build the
business case for backporting a more recent SUNWfirefox to
Solaris 10.

I'm more curious about whether there will be a future Solaris 10 update
at all, firefox notwithstanding. I assume that Firefox3 will be backported
about as soon as they move beyond Gnome 2.6, i.e. never.

In the meantime, I'm running Firefox 3.6.3, courtesy of mozilla.com. Since
it now comes up on their main page, I'm pretending they sort-of support
it. At any rate, it works fine--yeah, the plugins are a bit of a hassle
each time I upgrade, but really not that big of a deal.

Indiana isn't ready to replace Solaris 10 and Solaris 10 updates will
be required for the upcoming systems.

Oracle can drop the more modern versions in /usr/sfw/lib or similar.

I use this URL to get Oracle's SFWfirefox packages for S10 and Indiana.

I symbolically link the Flash and JDK 6 plugins from
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins and /usr/java/jre/lib/i386/ to /opt/sfw.
