From: Steve on 28 May 2010 18:55 I try to open a mswmm file and get an error message like, "....mswmm was created by a version of windows movie maker that is not supporteded ..." So, in my wisdom I uninstall my Movie Maker 2.6 and re-install Microsoft's (supposedly) latest version which is MM 2.2. I get same error message. I re-try MM 2.6 on several of my old files, and get the same message. What is happening? How can I edit these files? Thanks, Steve

If you create a new .project and save the .mswmm project file...can you reopen it in the copy of Movie Maker that just created it? FWIW...when a project is complete...do you render it to the ..wmv or .dv-avi movie format? If_yes_at that point the .mswmm project would no longer be useful unless you planned to re-edit the project. -- Volunteer J - MS-MVP Digital Media Experience Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk |
