From: gA on 4 Aug 2010 00:11 My desktop was 'up to snuff' 4 years ago.. It was assembled by a local computer store no longer in business. I have never owned a laptop and would like some advice on a reliable machine, fast, and good quality. My desktop will continue to help me with music/video editing and with all photo processing that I enjoy working with. I would like to spend no more than $1,000. I know that there will be a lot of individual decisions I have to make on the different components, but is there a minimum 'must have' boundary that will carry me through for the next few years? Thank you for any advice you can provide. - gA
