Make and model of the computer? 4. Are you using a standard SATA power connector from the power supply or using a SATA adapter from the older 4 wire Molex off the power supply?
From: Ron Patterson on 29 Jun 2010 19:51 Mystery apparently solved. Phone call to a GREAT Western Digital tech support technician. Familiar with my Intel motherboard. Recommended BIOS update as sure fix. It appears to have worked. Now with new drive installed and both old drives I can access BIOS and BIOS has found the drive. Can boot up into XP from either previous installed drives. Next step will be attempt to install Win 7 into the new drive.
