From: User Wk on 3 May 2010 12:45 Does solaris provide nfs client which uses reserved port for security? Such as Freebsd, it can use "vfs.nfsrv.nfs_privport=1" as kernel config. However, I found Opensolaris which has "set rpcmod:clnt_cots_do_bindresvport=1" optins on /etc/system, but it could not apply to solaris 10. Does Solaris 10 have the function like freebsd ?

The default for Solaris 10 (and earlier all the way back to SunOS days) is for NFS client binding with reserved port. Its only OpenSolaris-20050909 that changed it to not be the default.
