When I start W07 my default doc has a "graph paper" look inside the margins.
I think this is commong from the norma style sheet.
NEW> BLANK DOCUMENT puts a new blank page on the screen with a graph paper
look inside the margins.

This graph look doesn't print it's just a pain in the eye's...

You need to turn off the Drawing Grid from within the Normal.dotx, that will
stop it for all time.
Exactly where this is in 2007? Check the Help information.

In the View ribbon tab, click to remove the check next to Gridlines in the
Show section. That will turn off the graph-paper look.

You do not need to edit Normal.dotm (not Normal.dotx, in any case) to turn
gridlines off.
