actually since i'm new to mathematica i was wondering if someone can recommend which method suits numerical integration of double integrals of the kind i'm trying to solve

that's a great explanation
i know the symbolic result of this integral without the help of mathematica but i need to be able to calculate it numerically so i can see if the numeric calculation gives a plausible result for this kind of integral.
i hope that after your suggestions it will work for me

which might be better for a given problem take a look at:

You can access this by searching on this string in the
DocumentationCenter or by selecting VirtualBook from the Help
menu then clicking on the arrow in front of Mathematics and
Algorithms, then the arrow in front of Advanced Topics and
finally clicking on Advanced Numerical Integration in Mathematica
