Hi everyone, I have moved some mailboxes from one of my databases a few days
ago and still can't see the space available. I suppose I'm going to have do
an offline defrag.

So how is this done on a DAG database with circular logging active?

Thanks to all,

Ivan Mckenzie

Where are you looking? Have you waited past the Deleted Item Recovery
period?

Hi Ed, I'm looking at the disk size. Before moving the mailbox there was
15GB free and after I've still got the same free space after moving the
mailbox.
The keep deleted items is 14 days and the keep deleted mailbox is 30 days.

Are you suggesting that after 14 days or 30 days (I would say 30), I will
get my space back?
If so what about if I set these periods to 0 days, unmount, mount and wait
24 hours. Do you think this would get me my space back?

I've allways heard that the only way to get space back is doing offline
defrag.

Thanks a lot,

Ivan

Ivan;

Do the following in Exchange Management Shell:
Get-MailboxDatabase -Status | Select-Object Server,Name,AvailableNewMailboxSpace

You must remember that purged items are kept in the database for 14 days,
per that setting.

No, the database file never shrinks on its own. You have to run ESEUTIL /D.
However, if there is free space in the database, Exchange will use it before
expanding the database file further, so don't think you have to go reducing
the file unless you really have a disk space problem.
