Interesting question.

Actually, I believe Quilt is also bash-only.

If you are only solving your own problems, what point is there in
announcing code to other people?

To make it potentially useful to other people.

Not an issue. No one is proposing that you incorporate any GPL code;
the suggestion on the table was that you use an already-complete solution
which does everything you have suggested that you need, and is certainly
small enough and fast enough to be quite useful.

I see you're still kicking Seebs. But I don't have time to discuss all
your obsessions with me.

Have a nice day.

This has nothing to do with any imagined obsession *I* might have with
you. It's just that one can hardly fail to notice that you spent a month
or so disregarding any possible criticism of your last project that involved
anyone but you wanting to use it, and here you are doing the same thing
again.

So I asked a sincere question, partially because I want to know the answer,
and partially because I don't think you could ever answer it.

What is the purpose of these announcements? Do you want other people to be
able to use your code?

Thanks for taking a look Chris. It's been a while since I read or
posted here. Seems to be less traffic nowdays. I guess that's what
happens when trolls move in to the neighborhood.
