Lost power during automatic update INSTALLATION.

Download was complete but installation was NOT COMPLETE when I lost power on
Wed 6/16 10:30 EST. That 6/16 download & PARTIAL installation does not show
on my "latest installed updates" which are Windows XPCumulative Security
Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB982381) June 15, 2010 &
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - June 2010 (KB890830) June 12,
2010. Lost power for several hours.

Searched all files and folders, etc. but no KB file found for 6/16, did find
KB982381 on 6/15

Warning says "do not shut down during installation," but I totally lost
electrictiy - so what do I do now?

Have XPVersion 2002 Home, Service Pak 3, Pentium 4; Don't know the name of
6/16 automatic download but the installation was taking a lot of time. Your
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Bandera,

With a bit of luck no damage will have been done. Theoretically at least
Windows is capable of coping with this situation, and the fact that the system
booted up successfully is a good sign!

I suggest you visit the Microsoft Update web site. This should detect any
updates that still need to be installed. Let us know if any of the updates fail
to install properly, but otherwise I think it safe to assume that all is OK
unless and until your system develops any visible problems.

Harry.
