I've had it for a few years, always on a Slackware-only system (several versions of Slackware), but used only its printing functions until recently. I had expected to need to do quite a bit of research to get the scanning working with sane/xsane, but lo-and-behold, when I finally got around to being ready to work on that (by that time with Slackware-13.0), it just worked ... (and it works wonderfully, I might add ...) The downside of this anecdote, is that by virtue of it being more than three months old (in fact, I believe it's more than three _years_ old), I don't think you'll find an HP PSC1510 in any stores ... -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sylvain Robitaille syl(a)encs.concordia.ca Systems analyst / AITS Concordia University Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science Montreal, Quebec, Canada ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Works just fine -- but, you need the current HPLIP from HP's web site. The HPLIP software that comes with Slackware 13.0 (don't know about 13.1, haven't got it yet) and build it with the hplip.SlackBuild from the ap directory is Slackware source. You need at least hplip-3.9.12.tar.bz2 although hplip-3.10.2.tar.gz is fine, too. This is not an "office" machine but it's about $100 or less, scans, copies, prints photographs and does a fine job with all them. BTW you'll need to add any users to the lp, plugdev and scanner groups. Hope this helps some.
