From: pencilpusher57 on 14 Mar 2010 10:43 I have Microsoft Office 2007. Sometimes it works, at least the first time I use it after i start my computer. The next time I click on Word or Excel, it opens to a blank screen. The toolbars do appear at the top of the screen. If I click ANYWHERE on the screen or the commands a blue bar appears at the top of the screen which reads "Document 1 - Microsoft Word" and I get the hourglass. If I do nothing but wait that hourglass just stays on the screen forever. the only way out of this is to click the 'X' in the upper right hand corner. Then I get the message "This program is not responding". I click "End Now" and get the "choose to end nonresponding program, etc, etc This is very frustrating and time consuming. Sometimes rebooting my computer corrects the problem, sometimes not.

you might try booting into safe mode and see if office performs better this environment. if so, then there are a couple of things you can do. -- db·´¯`·...¸><)))º> DatabaseBen, Retired Professional - Systems Analyst - Database Developer - Accountancy - Veteran of the Armed Forces - Microsoft Partner - @hotmail.com ~~~~~~~~~~"share the nirvana" - dbZen > > "pencilpusher57" <pencilpusher57(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DA6D5500-04CF-41E3-812C-699A7AB204EE(a)microsoft.com... > I have Microsoft Office 2007.
