If running XP Pro - Click Start Run MMC Click File\Add/Remove Snap-in Click Add Double Click Group Policy Object Editor Select Local Computer (This assumes you are not in an AD Domain) Click OK Expand Local Computer Policy Expand Computer Configuration Expand Windows Settings Click Scripts (Starup/Shutdown) Double Click Startup Click Add Browse to the file you want to run Click OK Click Apply Click OK Close MMC (You can save it if you want to use this MMC again) File should run the next time the computer is restarted. It will run regardless of the user who logs in. If you want to limit it to a user or group or users, make the change in the User Configuration section instead of the Computer Configuration section. It will bwe in the same location under that section but will be labled Scripts (Logon/Logoff). |
