I have the same problem with our WSS 3.0

There is a local group made by MS SQL named:
'SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<servername>$MICROSOFT##SSEE'

If I add the usersaccounts used to login on the sharepoint site to this group I do not receive the error anymore.

I am still searching for an other way though to set a specific account that is being used by every user...
