Yes. It's very simple. Just don't display the array. Don't call
image(), imagesc(), pcolor(), or imshow().

Whatever that means. You mean without DISPLAYING an image on the
screen, or the image is just all black once you recall it from disk
and display it?

You might try imwrite() instead.
