From: uunix on 20 Feb 2007 17:51 Has anyone else experienced the failure of Management console after an update? smc failes to connect to server because the service is not running. svcs -xv tells me that svc:/application/management/snmpdx:default (Sun Solstice Enterprise Master Agent) State: offline since Tue Feb 13 22:23:29 2007 Reason: Dependency svc:/application/management/seaport is absent. See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-E2 See: man -M /usr/share/man/ -s 1M snmpdx Impact: This service is not running. this is because seaport is missing/absent Anyway, I have 3 Solaris 10 boxes here and all 3 fail in this way. Each box is patched using the update manager & is up to date. I did not notice when they failed or after what patch, I've not used it for ages. The sun link doesn't say much apart from get the dependancy running. Have I missed something? Many thanks Mark

Did you install 120272-05 (SPARC) or 120273-06 (x86)? If so, then that's the problem -- CR 6441943.
