I am trying to call search.asmx agains the search server from VS2008. I am
making the call from the server that hosts the search server using a server
admin account.

All I get back is a 401 error.

Any suggestions will be appreciated...at this point I am stumped.

This sounds like the local loopback check in action.

Thanks for the help...however I have tried this out against a remote server
and I get the same problem.

I am using NTLM authentication...I wonder if that is the problem.
