Downlaod it.

At the top middle part of the prog, there are 4
symbols. The one that is 2nd from the left will
show the counts for whatever document you have
opened. It should be .txt or .rtf.

Pretty sure that Notetab Lite will do both for you. However, it's a plain
text editor, not RTF.

Not sure if this helps, but Text Tally is a small program that sits in
the system tray. Copying and pasting text into its window gives you the
statistics you want. Use this with any editor you happen to enjoy using.
