From: anthony pedrana on 5 Jul 2010 04:35 hi, firstly im trying to control two pololu futaba servo's (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/207) through matlab to achieve smooth motion along two axis. I have been able communicate with each servo and get both moving alternatly using matlab code. However whenever i try move both at the same time their movement is erratic and innaccurate, i can overcome this by inserting a pause(0.5) between the send commands, however obviously this means they move one after the other and not simultaneosly. Secondly, At the end of the day i need to control the motors using simulink ( they will be in a feedback loop etc.) ive looked at the blocks serial send and to instrument and attempted to control the servos using both however i cant get it working, it seems to be sending data but its not correct, im unsure what sort of input block i should be giving it - at the moment im trying a constant block. Can anyone help me out with: a) which block should i be using serial send or to instrument? (please be noob friendly) b) can i completely control the servo's using simulink blocks or will i need to use a combination of matlab code and simulink blocks c) how to get both servos moving simultaneously any help would be greatly appreciated thanks, anthony
