From: Robert Geer on 31 Jan 2010 15:37 Linux 2.6.29.6 loads these modules: gspca_sonixj 18624 0 gspca_main 25344 1 gspca_sonixj videodev 43168 1 gspca_main v4l1_compat 15364 1 videodev v4l2_compat_ioctl32 10912 1 videodev I compiled & installed libv4l-0.5.97 & w3cam-0.7.2. w3cam's vidcat grabs an image as long as I have LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so set in my environment; however the image is overexposed & pinkish. I'm wondering what software others use on Slack 64 for webcam use. On my ubuntu laptop, cheese is very nice but I've found nothing useful on kde so far. I mostly want the webcam for skype, but don't want to bother creating a multilib 32/64-bit setup unless I'm assured skype/webcam will look decent. Any thoughts [pertaining to subject, that is...:-] welcome. Cheers, Bob
