My XP is a bit rusty, but try "tools/maintenance/clean-up." Under clean-up
you have have a tab to reset the group.

I'm using OE as my newsreader and I can reset a newsgroup with the
following:

Right-click the newsgroup name and select Properties.
Select the tab named Local File.
Click the RESET button.

So...what's the future like? The national debt must be about
999,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
by then.

Ok, thanks.

Really embarrassing that I have a post dated 5910 -- wish there was a way
to get rid of it.

Messages are archived on the MS newsserver for 90 days.

Translation: Posts that do not fall within a given 90-day timespan are
deleted automatically. Since your posts don't fall within the current
90-day timespan (think about it), they've already been deleted from the
server.
