From: Tony on 8 Aug 2006 11:32 I have eliminated the Hp 1020 as suggested Vera Noest. But the spooler still hang. People suggest that it would be the problem of printer driver over terminal services. Some suggest that the windows 2000 application may contain corrupted file. In what way I should tackle the problem? Now , following printers occur in the network hp laserjet 1020/1022 hp laserjet 4250n ( network printer) epson EPL-6100L advanced. Hp deskjet 930c Background--------- --------------------- In my company application server, the spooler hangs frequently. Config: Windows 2000 Server Sp4 with rollup 1 It ran as applications server and terminal server. A medical information system was installed on it. Users login into the server throught Remote Desktop on Windows XP platform. The Server run on a 3M/3M leaseline There are at most 6 users login through Remote Desktop Symptoms 1) When Spooler hang, users could not access the printer by pressing Start > Setting > Printers 2) Users could not enter the page setup or print setup page in any application. 3) Users could not print anything when spooler hang. 4) The CPU usage is low at that moment, not at 100% 5) When spooler hangs, it takes much longer time for users to login through remote desktop 6) Once the print spooler is restarted through "Services". All things resume normal. -------------------------- ---------------------------

"Filter out all stuff besides the drivername" to complex? Anyway, i would suggest the following mappings for these drivers: "ActiveTouch Document Loader" = "" "EPSON EPL-6100L Advanced" = "Epson EPL-6000" "HP Color LaserJet 1500" = "HP Color LaserJet" "hp deskjet 930c series" = "HP DeskJet" "HP LaserJet 1020" = "HP LaserJet Series II" "HP LaserJet 1022" = "HP LaserJet Series II" "HP LaserJet 2100 Series PCL 5e" = "HP LaserJet Series II" "HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL" = "HP LaserJet 4 Plus" "HP LaserJet 4250 PCL 5e" = "HP LaserJet 4 Plus" Mapped to "" basically means "do not use at all" on your TS. All mapped to drivers are native drivers from your OS cdrom. These may be simple drivers, but the only way to protect your spooler system without investing into a third party printing tool. If you're unfamiliar with mapping, have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;239088 If you like it even more easy to deploy above method, download printsubs:
