From: mannu on 5 Apr 2010 12:21 hello, On solaris 8 and 9 compared to solaris 10, the following difference has been mentioned for stmsboot utility. From sun docs: The behavior of the stmsboot command in the Solaris 10 OS differs from the stmsboot command provided by Sun StorEdge SAN Foundation software in the Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 OS. In the Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 OS, the stmsboot command is used to enable or disable multipathing on the boot device only for SPARC based hosts only. In the Solaris 10 OS, the command is used to enable or disable multipathing on all capable devices. For the Solaris 8 or 9 OS, change the value of the mpxio-disable parameter to no. Modify this entry in the /kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf file on each node. set mpxio-disable=no My question is that on solaris 8 and 9, does "stmsboot -L" lists the mapping for nonmpxio to mpxio devices only for boot devices enabled using stmsboot (or) all devices enabled by editing the "/kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf" file? Thanks and Regards, Mannu.
