From: steve on 25 Mar 2010 21:16 I finally got this computer (Acer Aspire AX1301-U1312) to boot into something besides Windows. First I verified that the computer was willing to boot off a USB stick. There wasn't anything on the stick to boot but at least the computer tried. Next I found a little utility on the internet - kinda like a RAWRITE for Windows -that put the usbboot.img file from the DVD to the stick. I rebooted... and voila! The slackware64-13.0 installation! I was able to mount the DVD drive so it looks like I'll be able to install directly off the DVD just as if I had booted from it. My thanks to all those who replied to my plea for help last week. --
