From: heron stone on 26 Mar 2010 12:28 ..i've been a mac user since 1984 ..i've never owned anything else, although i have used PCs in a work environment ..i still hear people whining about the price of apple products, even though the difference, if any, is minor these days ..here's my take on it ..it's not really an issue of price ..it's an issue of priorities/values ..some of the people i know who complain about mac pricing drive around in fifty- thousand dollar BMWs ..i drive a 20-year-old honda civic ..it's reliable; it gets great mileage; the air conditioning works; and it still looks good ..i have no intention of getting another car any time soon ..so it appears to be a matter of values ..some people would rather spend their money on a fancy car and other consumer items ..i prefer to spend my money on things that are most important to my life ..there is no "thing" in my life more important than my computer ..i'll pay whatever i have to to get what i consider to be the best for my needs ..i have two macs a mac mini and a 17" MBP, with 8 GBs of ram and a 7200 rpm 500 GB hd ..i like the OS; and i like the hardware; and i like the way things just work... most of the time ..the MBP cost me almost $3000 ..i think it's worth every cent of it ..i'm worth it ..anyone who pays more than $10,000 for a car and won't buy a mac because it costs too much has a very different value system than mine -- unDO email address ___ Nature, heron stone to be commanded, http://gendo.net must be obeyed. mailto:heronDO(a)gendo.net
