From: felmon on 6 Jun 2010 01:09 greets again. very strange conclusion to my mobo saga. I took the board with the unresponsive pci slots back today to the shop figuring I would beg for reimbursement minus their re-stocking fee. they were very friendly and didn't even want to read my little letter explaining my problem and how I gave up on the board. they just said, 'you're not satisfied, that's enough. we have to test the board though.' great. the guy comes back and says, 'we smelt a burning odor and look a couple of pins in the cpu socket are bent; the board is fried.' huh? well, I suppose I cannot 100% rule out the possibility I caused such damage (?) and I am not sure why they would damage the board - just refuse to reimburse me. anyway, I do know this will be the last time I do business with them.
