Next: Please help!! I cannot change the Date and Time of my laptop (XP)
From: r682 on 9 Jun 2010 01:29 this morning I up dated my windowsXP pro system with critical security up dates. Up dates from microsoft crashed my system. I tryed my fully licensed cd to reboot and am now getting INF file txtsetup.sif corrupt ormissing, first status 4096 now status 8092. I can access saved files when I add the hard drive to a system running windows98. Something is blocking this system from accessing xp. Can any one help? -- r682 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ r682's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/230223.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/1344812.htm http://forums.techarena.in
From: twitter on 9 Jun 2010 03:00 Dont Panic... There has been confirmation from Microsoft that the most recent Windows Update for Windows Xp (Only XP, no other Windows OS are exaggerated) contains the potential to crash your system. In order to resolve this issue, just visit the following Microsoft site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979682 and click on Fix it. Hope it works for you. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ twitter's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/78232.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/1344812.htm http://forums.techarena.in
From: r682 on 9 Jun 2010 14:47 Thank you for your reply. But the system only open up to the page that gives the option of safe mode, last working, debug, or normal and all options cause it to reboot. The licensed windows XP Pro CD will not read.My backup is a win98 system. -- r682 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ r682's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/230223.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/windows-xp-support/1344812.htm http://forums.techarena.in
