use induction motor drive as generator?

From: Darren Hinchliffe on 23 Apr 2010 05:01 I am trying to build a wind turbine with variable speed induction generator. Can I use the 6 step vsi induction motor drive model as a generator? Is there a better option? I need to have AC-DC-AC conversion with gate controlled inverters. The wind farm examples only seem to have 3 phase AC direct to the grid without DC conversion.
